Vintage Bateau Top: Quick Review

I just received this top yesterday and I'm very happy with it!

It's hard to say exactly if it runs TTS because I'm wearing a small which is a little looser in the body but the arms are a tad tight. Had I ordered an XS, the arms would probably be way too uncomfortable for my liking. My PS said that it *is* made to look a little more loose but I guess it is up to you how you plan on wearing it. It looks great simply worn w/ a pair of jeans.

I'm wearing the dark pewter color which looks like gray IRL but almost appears navy. The shirt is pretty thick and kinda rough if I had to describe it. It surely isn't made with the usual tissue material and isn't soft like the previous slub or painter tee's. It's supposedly "Vintage Slub" whatever that means... but anyway, now I'm really wishing that I ordered the carmel color one too! That's how much you'll like the shirt!

I know that this top IS backordered until June in certain sizes but if you want a SUPER helpful tip to get this top before then, DO THIS:
-Email your PS or erica@jcrew.com or even call to get a personal shopper and have them do a WE WILL FIND IT FOR YOU. Since it IS a full priced item it should work! Don't forget that you can always do a WWFIFY when you want a full priced item that is in store but sold out or backordered online. *I'm really not sure about online only items. Sorry!* The best part of doing this is that it ships FOR FREE! AND you can apply a student discount on top of that!

I did this service last week and quickly received an answer and got the shirt in the mail 2 days ago! :)

I really recommend utilizing this service because it works wonders! :)
Buy this top! You'll really like it! Happy Shopping y'all!

Land's End Canvas: Shift Dress Review

I'm allll about Land's End Canvas right now! Their stuff is simple and casual and not all about ruffles! YAY! I still like a few ruffles here and there but it sure is refreshing to see some simple designs that look put together and are fairly priced!

And now onto the review:

I ordered this dress in a size 2. I really wasn't sure about the sizing so I just took a chance and went with what my USUAL size is. I had a feeling a 4 would be too big and I'm not quite the size 0 anymore. Hehe.

Here I am wearing it with the Deco dot patent belt:

The length is a tad long on me. It falls right below my knees which is okay because I wasn't really going for a short dress or anything anyway. I may change my mind later and have it shortened just a bit... but we'll see.

But anyway, I think this type of lightweight dress would be perfect for a Summer or Spring stroll through Boston Commons. I LOVE IT! One HUGE plus is that the dress has pockets! This is pretty great because we all know how pockets are alllll the rage right now! :)

The skirt & top meet at the waist which makes it pretty convenient to sport a belt with it. Speaking of belts, I ordered this belt along with the dress. (I'm wearing it in the picture below.)

It was only $9.99! You can find it in the "overstocks" area of the LE website.

Although the dress is not lined you should be okay since it's not see through in any way. The white cotton top is nice and stretchy and it made with a substantial fabric so your bra really shouldn't show.

The dress also has a side zip which is helpful and don't worry, it doesn't bother or pinch at all. I actually didn't even notice that there was a zip because I was sooo excited that I just slipped the dress on overhead.

After the discount, the dress was about $48. That isn't bad IMO because I was goinig to spend $70 on JCrew's Poplin Wednesday Skirt to achieve the same type of look. Overall you really won't be disappointed in the dress! The ONLY problem I can see you ladies encountering is the length issue. But that can always be fixed with a simple hem.

So what do you think of the dress? Will you give it a whirl? Let me know!

Bringing home fur-baby!

I have some very exciting news! For a while now, my bf and I have been talking about getting a pet. Our apartment complex only allows cats so that pretty much knocked dogs out of the picture... plus, puppy's are A LOT of work and we just weren't ready for that right now. So what did we do this past weekend? We adopted a cat! She was pretty much my Valentine's gift from my bf :) (Awwwwwwwww how sweet!)

And now, drum roll please......
I would like to introduce you to: Chloe! (pronounced *CLOEY*) She was formerly known as Ms. Tiger but we weren't really feelin' that name.

She is cutest, most adorable little thing ever! She was found wandering the streets of a nearby town a couple months ago, starving, and malnourished. How SAD! The thing is that she actually has a microchip in her but her past owners failed to update their info so she was a poor little (stray) orphan! :(

She is a 3 year old unique Calico/Tabby mix which is super cool because she her fur is seriously half Calico and half Tabby. It's weird! You can she the stripes and patches of different colors. She was very timid at first but now she is happy and feels more comfortable around me and my bf. I call her my lucky little kitty because she has a wishbone figure on her forehead. She has white socks (I call 'em mittens!) and a white bib.

She is super small weighing less than 7 pounds. She makes me smile every day! I've only had her for a week and I'm already attached! :)

I'll post more pictures of her later. Just wanted her to make a quick appearance! :)

OOTD: Sequin Ruffle Tissue Tee

Hello out there! I can't believe it's already Friday tomorrow!!! This week sure has flown by so fast. I've been tooo busy to post any IRL photos for a while so today I'll go ahead and share my OOTD.

I'm wearing the JCrew Sequin Ruffle Tee.

It's currently on sale for $19.99 I believe but I think it has now sold out due to the current sale. Anywho, I picked this top up a while back and barely wore it today.

It's made with the very comfy "tissue tee" material. It runs TTS and I'm rather happy with it. I decided to go with a small since I didn't want the top hugging my midsection.

The ruffle is quite cute and gives a girly touch to the shirt. What makes this top a little different are the sequins! They wrap around one arm hole, around the back neckline, and onto a bit of the other shoulder. Very cute!

The whole outfit:
Shirt: Sequin Ruffle Tissue Tee, Small
Pants: Old Navy Diva Skinny Jeans
Necklace: Marc by Marc Jacobs Heart Watch Pendant
*Sorry about my messy room! :)

Here is a close up of one shoulder:

And here is the ruffle:

I highly recommend this top if you're in the market for a simple, yet interesting tank! :)
Do any of you have this tee? What do you think of it?

JCrew Final Sale! EXTRA20 + Freeeeeee shipping*

I have to admit that the EXTRA % off + Free Shipping promos are my absolute FAVORITE! Like many others, I really wish for a % off and free ship NO min, but it's HIGHLY unlikely that'll ever happen.

But anyway, I love getting great deals and not worrying about paying an arm and a leg with shipping costs. The only catch about this promo is that you have to pretty much have around $190 worth of sale stuff to get the free shipping, at the very least you'll end up spending $150... which IMO, isn't bad for alllll the stuff I ended up getting! 8 pieces for $150?! That's like only 2 or 3 full priced items!!! I'll go the sales route, thank you very much!!! :)

Here is what I bought:
I listed the original price and what I paid after the 20% reduction.

Ruffle & Roses Tank in Sheer Lilac & Ivory
Original Price: $42.50 each
Sale Price: $24/each

Tulle Blossom Art Tee in Natural
Original Price: $45
Sale Price: $20

Tissue Ribbed Ruffle Henley in Black
Original Price: $39.50
Sale Price: $24
Pom-Pom Feather Pin- I've been wanting one since fall but could never pounce on one fast enough! Hopefully this one doesn't arrive broken or defective!
Original Price: $22.50
Sale Price: $11

Leather Equestrian Belt (I've been wanting a brown JCrew belt! Finally got it at a great price!)
Original Price: $45
Sale Price: $24

Destroyed Boyfriend Chinos- I sized down so hopefully they fit good on me!
Original Price: $69.50
Sale Price: $16

Scout Chinos: These will be super cute once the sun starts to come out.
Original Price: $69.50
Sale Price: $16

After seeing the sale and original price, you can see that when you buy JCrew on sale, YOU REALLY GET A GOOD DEAL!!! I got over $370 worth of stuff and I paid half that! WOOO! LOVE IT!

As much as I'd love to buy full priced items, it just isn't cost effective for me. Sure, I may miss out on hot items but paying full price and then one week later have the item hit the sales rack is just sad. My items may be from fall/winter rollout but I know that I can still bring them into the spring.

Did any of you take part in the EXTRA20 promo? Or are you saving your $$$ for the new rollout that is coming?

Happy Shopping to you all!

LOFT: President's Day Weekend Sale

ATL is having a 50% off *select* spring items sale online & in stores! I stopped by to take a QUICK look and picked up these Ink dot print shorts for under $20 bucks.

They're pretty cute and slightly JCrew-ish. The dots are a navy blue. The shorts run TTS and I'm in love with the print! Looks like most of the sizes are sold out online so you might try using their search tool. They're originally $39.50.

Head over to Loft and see what you can find! Happy Shopping!
