Have you ever emailed Erica?

So the other day I received my spontaneous eBay purchase:

The LOVELY Shimmering Stone Necklace (Mine is actually the clear one, not the Orchid color)

I never really planned on buying it, but on a limb I decided to bid on it because I'd be happy if I won or loss. The funny thing is that I actually ended up winning. Anyway, I finally got the necklace and its pretty cute IRL. I'm not super in LOVE with it but I guess it'll grow on me. The truth is, I really don't know what to wear it with. It's kind of bling-blingy so... unless I'm dressing kinda fancy, I really don't know when or how to wear it.

So what did I do? I emailed ERICA. You know, this Erica:

Not sure about size? Need help putting it all together? Email Erica, our personal shopping expert, at erica@jcrew.com

Well, fastforward to a day later and I got this email:

Hi Ashley ,

The Shimmering Stone Necklace is a gorgeous dainty necklace that was inspired by the fall collection. The crystal and gold look is definitely big for this season.

This necklace can definitely be paired with a Perfect Fit Tee and cardigan. Your color options are open since you have the clear color. It will pick up colors beautifully. It also lays pretty against textured shirts and tops such as our Silk Frances Cami or our Silk Lumiere Cami which has been on our best sellers list. Since layering and texture is the now, I think putting it against a scarf is an excellent idea.

As far as layering different necklaces, you can pair it with other crystal necklaces with color such as our Crystal Symphony Necklace or our Tiered Crystal Liberetto Necklace. You can also pair it with a statement piece such as our Antique Gold Manor Necklace. Remember you can also double it up and wear it shorter.

I hope these suggestions are helpful. If you have anymore questions or concerns, please feel free to email or phone me at the address below.

Sooo.. what did you think of the advice? Imo, it was rather helpful. What I loved the most was how she emailed photos of the tops and necklaces that she was referring to. In the future, I think I might actually ask "Erica" for advice again. It doesn't hurt!

Do you have any advice for me on what to wear with this necklace? How would you style it? Do you think you'll ever email "Erica?" Let me know!

OOTD and things I'm gonna pull the trigger on...

Here is what I wore the other day.

JCrew Rolling Ruffle Top XS
JCrew Crystal Flower Necklace
Old Navy "Diva" Skinny Jeans
Joe's Jeans Mustard Hobo
JCrew Metallic Gold Flats

Jeans on a 95 degree day?! Yeah, that's what I said too. I'm such a fool for leaving ALL of my shorts back in California. I had no idea that it was going to be ridiculously hot here on the East Coast! So to avoid my luggage being over 50 pounds, I took all of my summer clothes out and left them at home!!! Now I'm here in Massachusetts stuck with jeans, sweaters, a ton of tops, 2 summer dresses, and ummm1 pair of shorts. Sadd!!! Only 1 pair of shorts!!! Hopefully it starts to cool down a bit because I can't be wearing these same outfits. Maybe my mom will mail me a few of my summer outfits. But we'll see.

I've been scoping out my closet and playing with polyvore a lot this weekend and I've come to the conclusion that I don't really need to buy the Camino Coat, expensive cords, or any fancy cashmere sweaters quite yet. As BEAUTIFUL as those pieces are, the prices are pretty high and I should at least wait a while for a couple of markdowns. (Or at least a sale or something...)

I paid a visit to F21 and I was pleasantly surprised! They have a ton of cute stuff that can really perk up anyone's wardrobe. I picked up some leggings for $4.50, skinny gray jeans for $14, a purple scarf for $5.50, and a cute ring for $5! I'm definitely going back for other things but I think I'm good for now. I'm really surprised at the kind of stuff F21 has now! They make shopping on a budget really possible!

As for JCrew, I've definitely decided to pull the trigger on a few things:

Horseshoe Charm Necklace
Most of my JCrew necklaces look a tad fancy so I feel like this would be a nice "normal" everyday looking necklace. I know I'd get a lot of use out of this.

Wool Herringbone Bucket Hat

I've read some great reviews on this hat and it really won me over. It would be great for those cold and rainy days. I never was a hat kind of girl until last year and I realized that you HAVE to wear a hat in order to keep warm. This one is pretty fairly priced and super cute!

Slub Cotton Embroidered Flowers Tee

This tee is absolutely gorgeous. I never really paid much attention to it until I read reviews and saw some polyvores. It a pretty looking tee and would look good on its own as well as under cardigans!
What do you think? Should I get these items? Do you have them? Let me know!
------
UPDATE: I just pulled the trigger! I also bought the Featherweight Cashmere Vneck Sweater in Spicy Guava.

I've been needing a lighter shade of pink in my wardrobe. It'll go great with gray tones.

Here's my Polyvore:

I'm happy! I'm done shopping for now.
What do you think? Do you have any of these items? Let me know!

Happy Shopping ladies! :)

Quick Reviews!

First off, I'm returning 2 things: Linen Scoopneck sweater and the Striped Tee.

The Linen Scoopneck Sweater reeeeeeally let me down. When I opened the plastic, the sweater seemed like it was stretched out already! I was pretty certain that it came from a B&M because it had the actual price on the pricetag. Ugh. I was sooo looking forward to that sweater but it's seriously going back. I was going to take a IRL photo of it but it seriously looked like a potato sack on me especially since it was the brown (nut) color. If any of you are thinking about buying this sweater, just be careful because that linen material stretches out and I really doubt it will go back to shape. The washing instructions say to machine wash and then lay flat, so it reeeally won't retain good shape. Just my opinion.

As for the Striped Tee, I think that mine is defective because it has some threading that is just off. I couldn't take a good picture of it but it was like there was loose thread hanging inside of the collar which made it look like it was dirty since the thread was like dark gray. It's hard to explain because it's not like I can just cut the thread because the collar is sewn around it... but that thread really shouldn't be there. This probably doesn't make any sense.

I know that the tee is final sale but ugh I'm very disappointed in it. I echo those ladies who have tried this tee and say that it is super thin. And its like some weird stretchy material. I really don't like it at all. It seriously hugs in ALL the wrong places. I really don't like clothes that make me feel tubby. It's going back!!!!!!

And now on to the rest of my goodies:
1. COCODRILLO CARDIGAN!

I'm loving this cardi! It's fun, pretty, and different. One thing bad about it? It's not that soft. The linen is what makes it a little more rough than the sweaters I'm used to. But don't worry, it's not super rough.

If you haven't seen this print up close before, there are little crocs that connect together to create the loops. My bf told me they look more like geckos. But eh, it's still cute. I'm wearing an XS which fits great! The color scheme is also nice because it goes with jeans as well as black pants. I'm wearing a black cami underneath so that I can leave a few buttons open. I highly recommend this cardigan! See it here on the lovely Dina! :)

2. SILK TRIM PARLOUR CARDIGAN

(SORRY NO PICTURE)

For the price I paid, this cardigan is super! I got this in dark charcoal which is really like a super dark gray and NOT black. It really feels like a thin, lightweight cotton jersey material and the silk trim is very nice. The silk around the pocket has unfinished ends but it's not really noticeable. If you're looking for something nice to throw on top of a cami or tee, this is a great item! It really isn't thick at all so if you're looking for substance this isn't it.

I love this cardigan so much that I'm probably going to buy a few more colors. I'm regretting not doing so during the sale :(

But anyway, I'm wearing an XS and it is very fitted when buttoned up. If you want something loose go up a size. Oh, and it is a bit long. Not FOREVER CARDIGAN LONG but just long enough to cover some of the booty. I really recommend this cardigan! Great price for a very versatile piece!

3. PERFECT FIT V NECK in rust

I'm loving this tee. I had one long sleeve perfect fit crewneck from last year and I feel like this year's in a bit longer in length. I'm not saying it's a bad thing because I kinda like the longer tees. There isn't much to review about this top but the color is great! I'm glad this tee worked out because the Georgia Cardigan I got in this similar color just wasn't fitting the way I wanted it to. I'm wearing a size small in this tee. I highly recommend you stock up in these for fall and winter. Great for layering! :)

4. CADET FUNNELNECK CARDIGAN!!!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE (i can go on forever) LOVE this sweater. I'm a huge fan of the DREAM material because it is warm and perfect for the East Coast chill. This sweater in particular is extremely soft. I thought it would be itchy but it's not at all. I think that this year's dream material might be better than last year's!

I'm wearing a size small in this picture. You might want to try it on in store because depending on how you want it to fit you can either size up or down. For the most part though, I'd say it was TTS. Just remember that if you want to wear it all buttoned up like I have in this picture, you'l want to keep in mind of the possible gaping. And if you are planning on layering to have extra arm room. Had I gone with an XS it would have been too tight. Also the sleeves on this sweater are rather long and go past my wrists but I don't mind at alll. Sorry it's not a better picture!

As for the negatives, the only downside I can think of is the buttons. They are kind of a pain to button up. But they are fancy gold ones so I guess it's no big deal. That's my only complaint! :)

So pretty much if you get this cardi, you'll seriously love it too! I got it for a great deal since I ordered it off the red phone (got free shipping and used student discount.) You should too!

I guess that's all for now. I'm heading to the mall to do some returns. We'll see what I find. If you have any questions about the items feel free to ask! :)

Happy Shopping!

Fall Rollout! Looks I'm lovin'!

Ohh I'm so happy with all of the new fall styles! It was fun to look through the online catalog (SINCE MINE HASN'T ARRIVED SINCE MAY?!!! UGH!!) and see how they put stuff together. I personally love to go through the catalogs and get "inspiration" or straight up copy-cat looks with the stuff I have.

I just bought a lot of great stuff with the past sales and still have lots of great clothes from last year so I'm doing my best not to go overboard and spend lots of money.

Here are a few of the looks that I'm loving:

Casual Blazer with a hooded sweater underneath totally screams great outfit for school! I'm LOVING that handbag too!

Gray with Khaki is something I definitely need to try. Love the light colored scarf too!

Printed blouse, trouser pants, and SNEAKERS?! LOVE IT!!!

Pink and gray... ahh! I really need some light gray cords!

Blazer with rolled up sleeves, ankle skinny jeans, sneakers! Comfy and cool. I love the slightly edgy look!

Pretty blouse layered with a cardigan and Pufffffer vest! Add some leggings and ballet flats! This is something I can definitely do!

*Sigh* I'm really falling in love with fall! :)
I also WANT to buy these:

I'm in love with metallic pink.
Is that a scarf tied around her hips????? Innnnnteresting!
OMG I LOVE THIS RING!!
What a comfy looking sweater!!!

Sadly, I won't be buying them anytime soon. Just too pricey!! I guess I don't NEEED them right now! I'll survive... right?!

How do you feel about the new fall rollout?
Love it? Hate it? Let me know!

PS: My Cadet sweater came in yesterday and I LOVE IT!! I'll do a mini review later on. AND my EXTRA20 goodies should be arriving today!!! YAY! :)

EXTRA20! What'd you buy???

Okay as much as I wanted to wait for a huge update, I really didn't care to wait around any longer...so I pulled the trigger!

Here is my Polyvore with the things I got.

Here are a few of the items on the model since this polyvore makes them look boring:
Linen Scoopneck Sweater
(Super cute looking! I got this in Nut which is perrrect for fall!)

Tissue Silk-Trim Parlour Cardigan

Cocodrillo Cardigan (love this print!)

I think I did pretty well! 5 AWESOME ITEMS for only $151?! WOOP! WOOP! The only one marked final sale was the Cocodrillo Cardi so I can still return if they don't work out! :)

Do any of you have these items? What do you think about them? I'd love to hear about the Parlour Cardigan especially! It looks very casual but the silk trim makes it a tad better than ordinary!

Sooo what did you buy?! Let me know!! Happy Shopping Ladies!!!

I went shopping! (Again!) and Some OOTDs

I went to the mall today to do some returns and I ended up buying some GREAT things instead! I bought the infamous "Headache" tee

and the Dream Cadet Funnel Neck Sweater in Heather Dusk.

I'm loving the headache tee! It's super comfy, cute, and TTS. I got this in an XS and fits great. I love the color because its different and the beading reminds me of the Candy Tees! Pretty!

As for the Cadet Sweater, I'm super excited for it to come in the mail. My B&M didn't have it in store for some reason so I couldn't try it on. The SA said to go with a small because the sleeve tend to be rather tight. So I went ahead and ordered it through the catalog. I hope it fits or I'll end up having to exchange it! The good thing about ordering it in store because I got free shipping and student discount.

I have to admit that I bought them both after seeing Summer in them! She always buys the cutest pieces! Haha at least we don't live in the same town or else we'd be twins! I didn't mean to copy you Summer! I swear! :)

But anywho, just wanted to give you an update on the Old Navy Jeans in case you want to pick some up. I ended up going to the store to try 'em on and thank goodness I did! Their jeans run a tad small and are sized a bit different than Express ones because I'm usually a 4 and had to go up a size and buy a 6 short instead. The denim material really isn't thick but they do look pretty good and hold shape. The quality really isn't as bad as I thought them to be. They have stretch which make them very comfortable and for $19 I had nothing to lose! I don't plan on keeping these for years and years so in the end, they pay for themselves. I ended up buying the dark rinse and the lighter denim color. I recommend them if you want some cheap jeans and can try 'em on first.

Now on to some OOTDs:
Today: Banana Republic Tank, Old Navy Skinny Jeans (the ones I just bought)

Yesterday: Papaya Dressy Jersey Strapless Dress with Crystal Flower Necklace
(I really want to get this dress hemmed up a little bit because it's right and the bottom of my knees. Lol, how sad it looks like it has no shape on me in the picture. Hmm, it looks better in person!)

Friday: Keylime Portland, Medallion Shorts, Palermo Sandals

Have a great Sunday everyone! :)

And the winner is...

Shirls! Congratulations!

You now own 2 pairs of socks compliments of me! :)
I'll be emailing you for your address info.
Congrats again! :)

Old Navy!

Old Navy is currently having a great deal with their jeans! $19?! That's cheap! Let's just hope these jeans are good.

I can't decide whether I want to stop in the store and try some on or just be lazy and buy through their site. Ever have this dilemma? Ahhh.

These ones are pretty cute:

AND they come in short, regular, long, tall, and petite!

I also like this gray color too.

The price is really good. I'm just wondering how the quality is. I usually buy Express Jeans because they're stylish, come in short sizes, and moderately priced. I wish I could buy designer jeans left and right but hmmm that's kinda pricey.

What do you think? Should I give 'em a whirl or just invest in really good jeans instead? Let me know! Have a great weekend!

PS: Don't forget to sign up for the sock giveaway! I'll be picking a winner tomorrow morning! :)
